Employee hardware & benefits

This is only for fulltime employees. For part-time, there are no set rules.

Computer

We want all employees to be on the same OS, so we buy exclusively Apple hardware to employees.

What we offer is:

• Mac mini to get you started on a mac, this might be the base model or one with a bit more RAM
• After approximately the first 3 months, but decided on individual basis based on performance, you get $1500 to upgrade your hardware / home office, every year. This must be used to upgrade desktop/laptop if we want that. But otherwise can be used on router, monitor, desk etc.

Example: Start in June 2026, then 2027 you get $1500 every year from now, when you are ready to do the hardware upgrade. The transfer amount will just be rounded up to be enough for your planned purchase. So the $1500 might be divided on more transfers if you don’t plan one big purchase.

We recommend buying the latest computer and don’t overdo it with storage/RAM, and prefer to upgrade to the latest chip more regularly.

How to purchase: You inform about your planned purchase, then you get the amount added to your next wage payment. Tip: Use the student website if available in your country, Apple does not check student status. For example edu store in Norway: https://www.apple.com/no-edu/store

Network equipment

Use your yearly hardware budget to upgrade to a router on the latest Wi-fi standard

Monitor

In general I believe one big monitor is usually good enough + CMD+TAB to switch fast between applications.

I think multiple monitors is often a distraction and does not add to productivity.

We recommend just getting one decent monitor.

Phone

The newest Iphone will be provided, in addition to the “hardware upgrade” on a “need” and performance basis.
