Removing “permanently” the need for glasses

25-04-2019 I performed Lasik eye surgery. I was nearsighted and had around -3 on both eyes.

These were the glasses I wore before the surgery:

After the surgery I had to close my eyes for some time. Then I took a taxi home. At this time, I could see clearly but it was hard to keep my eyes open. Then I slept for some hours, took a walk outside, and then went to bed with these “sleeping glasses” on

These glasses avoid that you accidentally rub your eyes.

The day after the surgery

I went to work the day after surgery, but leaved early, as I was a bit tired. My eyes did not hurt, but one definitely feels that “something” has happened to your eyes.

Post surgery “medicines”

I got two different eyedrops, to prevent dryness and infection

Result - am I happy?

I do not know. Only years down the road I can really be sure if I am happy with the result. Two years ago, I was contemplating the same procedure, I was then 21 years old. If I had taken it then, I would now were glasses today in 2019, since my eyes did get worse vision from 21 to 23 (-0.5 in difference if I remember correctly).

That means I would have regretted taking surgery at that time, and it might be that I regert this surgery.

Right now I do not have dry eyes, I do not see halos and I have clear vision, but it is the long term effect that counts.
