Freelance (unpredictable) to fulltime
If you want to work fulltime instead of freelance, the requirements are:
- You can only work for us, no one else
- You need to be available for fulltime, 40 hours per week(37.5 excluded lunch), 8 hours per week day
- You need to have shown over time through the freelancer platform that you are reliable and have the available time. Specifically you need to have worked 1 month through the freelancer platform where you work at least 35 hours per week
Standard contract
- Monthly fixed payment directly to your account paid with Wise / Airwallex. We can pay to almost anywhere in the world with little fees through these platforms.
- Payment in most currencies. We don’t need to pay in USD, but can pay directly in the currency of your home country if you prefer that. Saving on currency conversion fees.
- The payment date is 1st every month. Up front, for work done that month. So 1st January you get payment for the whole of January
- 20 days off during the year. That can be used for vacation, sick days. Any reason is valid, you have 20 days you simply don’t need to work
- We will provide you with the best work equipment, typically the latest mac mini / macbook. This will be bought as needed, it is best to buy at the beginning of the release cycle, as to not buy products that soon will be superseded
- No need for time tracking through the freelancer platform anymore.
- You’re required to work 40 hours a week. We are flexible with work hours, but ultimately the employer decides when to work during weekdays. We will try to adapt to timezone differences
- Yearly increases, based on performance
Exit bonus
In software development, churn is a big problem, we want our developers to work with us for a long time. To incentivize this, we have a very generous exit bonus program.
We aim to sell all systems we develop. For example ReAI accounting system can be sold to Visma. Visma bought PowerOffice for about 240 million USD for example, at that time they had about 20k customers. As long as we make a good enough system and get enough customers, it should not be hard to sell.

### Conditions
* $X paid to your bank 1st every month.
First payment is 1st August for work done in that month
* 20 days off during the year (vacation, sick days, other leave)
For the first year, the number of vacation days is X/365 * 20, where X is the days remaining of the year
* We buy work equipment as needed
* You will work 40 hours/week. 8 hours per day, but 0.5 of that lunch, so net 7.5 hours of work each day
* Yearly increases, based on performance. Always 01.01 (1st of January), even if you have not worked for a full year
* Work hours is decided by the employer,
but we will adapt to timezone and be flexible.
For example letting you work less one day, then catch up in the weekend.
* You are expected to work exclusively for Respiro — no other employment is allowed.
* If you have not yet had a face to face Google meet, this has to be arranged before the contract start.
### Exit Bonus Program
In addition to the compensation above, you will be eligible to participate
in our **Exit Bonus Program**, which allocates **10% of the net proceeds from a software/company sale**
to qualifying fulltime employees.
**Eligibility criteria:**
- You must have worked fulltime for:
- **At least 3 years** if hired as a **Junior Developer**
- **At least 2 years** if hired as a **Developer** or **Senior Developer**
- You must **not be in breach of contract** (e.g. violating exclusivity) at the time of the sale.
**Distribution:**
This bonus will be paid upon a qualifying company sale or merger event,
provided eligibility conditions are met.
The bonus is capped to $300,000 per person.
**Example:**
If the accounting system ReAI is sold for **$10 million**, then **$1 million (10%)**
will be distributed among eligible employees who worked on this system.
If there are **10 fulltime employees** who all worked exactly **3 years**,
each would receive:
`3 / (10 x 3) = 10%` of the pool → **$100,000 each**.
**Example 2**:
- Company is sold for **50 million**
- 10% Exit Bonus Pool = **$5 million**
- 20 fulltime eligible employees:
- 10 employees worked **4 years**
- 10 employees worked **6 years**

### Reporting requirements
As a fulltime employee you are required to deliver 3 looms every workday.
Each loom should be minimum 5 minutes long.
1. At the start of the day. Clarifying today's work plan and if there are any blockers. Also
a brief summary of what was done last work day if relevant. If more time remains (of the 5 minutes) start
working during the loom.
2. Middle of time 3-4 hours in. Show what has been done so far and/or explain blockers or concepts you have read
up on etc. If more time remains, continue your work during the loom
3. End of day 7-8 hours in. Show what has been done today, present what you've learned and present the plan
for tomorrow if any. If more time remains, continue working on the loom.
The looms will be used to give feedback, spot misunderstandings early and evaluate performance.
### Termination & Resignation
Either you or Respiro may end the employment at any time, with **14 days written notice**.
- The notice period applies equally to both sides.
- During the notice period, you are expected to continue working and reporting as usual, unless otherwise agreed.
- Immediate termination may occur in case of serious misconduct, breach of contract, or violation of company policy.
Leaving the company (voluntarily or through termination)
before meeting the **Exit Bonus Program** eligibility criteria
means you forfeit the right to any bonus under that program.
